FOTO - A DESIGN EYE THROUGH THE LENS






BIG SKY - it only exists at sea or on the coast, it's a play on light between the sea and the sky. Under the Big Sky form and colour sharpens and intensifies.  Through the lens this world under the Big Sky is a vivid place to view, capture and inspire me.

I first became aware of a Big Sky when I worked on a project in Sydney. I returned home to Cardiff and wild West Wales to live, work and play under this Big Sky. Since then my cameras go everywhere.

In Context - Having spent many spare hours & days at the Barrage in Cardiff Bay shooting industrial details, natural forms, colours, textures and the Big Sky it seemed appropriate for photographer Warren Orchard to shoot a portfolio of portraits of me in a place that I find photographically intriguing. Warren was hoping for some great evening light to play with. The Big Sky didn't let him down.
